What is your teaching philosophy?
"One's students deserve a teacher who is present. I must be with my students and in the moment at every opportunity I possibly can. Nearly every moment in class is an opportunity to learn."
Can you tell us about a memorable student?
"I love it when students bring their interests to class. One such student brought their interest in linguistics to one of the words native to the cultural depicted in one of our class novels."
What is your favorite part of being a teacher?
"I love that every day is different, and I can leave a positive impact on my students' lives. I also enjoy learning from my students."
What is the biggest challenge you face as a teacher?
"Finding ways to motivate students to value their learning in my class can be a major challenge. Breaking past that barrier and helping a student find their reason to care is one of my favorite experiences as a teacher."
