What is your teaching philosophy?
"My philosophy is built upon challenge, support, and structure. Challenge students with the "next level". Provide them with a safe and supportive "okay to fail, which enables you to soar" environment. Have well-structured lessons and an overall program that feeds their growth. Built upon respect for themselves, others, and our music. Celebrate small achievements - overcoming a small failure builds grit, encourages growth, and builds independence."
Can you tell us about a memorable student?

What is your favorite part of being a teacher?
"Student Growth: those little moments when something clicks. The small victory after putting in the gritty/daily grind work."
What is the biggest challenge you face as a teacher?
"Society's general denigration of educators. Teaching "not a real class" (elective/music classes not seen as "real"). Overworked."
